What I Learned in My First Year as a Realtor.
This is where a little storytelling comes into play. Working for yourself is very different than working for someone else. The vast majority of people don’t have the guts to be an entrepreneur, but I believe that being a broker is a perfect union of the two. I don’t have to be completely on my own because @properties has held me up with their wonderful trainings and state of the art resources.
I’ve realized, more than ever before, how important it is to nurture connections. I had to find a network, meet a lot of new people, and dig deep into my past to find people I haven’t talked to in a while! And, wouldn’t you know it, I truly loved the opportunity to get back in touch with some old colleagues.
Highland Park has been my home for 25 years. I raised two kids here (they’ve both gone off to college now). Things have changed in a lot of ways. Here’s what is new and cool about Highland Park. Whether you’re new to the neighborhood or old school like me, there is something for everyone. I’m getting my stride in this city in a new way because I am a broker. I’ve seen so many beautiful homes and learned a LOT about inspections, property taxes, schools in the area, etc. I’ve literally had to become an expert at all things HP!
If you have questions about what it takes to succeed in a life transformation like changing careers, I am always up for a coffee. I love sharing my experiences with this audience and I am always learning about new businesses to support, etc. I’d even love to feature you on my LOCAL HP segment on social media! Cheers to new chapters and new markets.
Janet
